Description
English: Seal die from the British Museum. Tag on exhibit reads: "Bronze seal die with an openwork handle. Found near a monastery site at Eye, Suffolk. The Latin inscription may be translated as 'The Seal of Bishop Ethilwald', possibly referring to Aethelwald, Bishop of nearby Dunwich, AD 845-870. Given by Hudson Gurney MP, 1822 MME 22,12-14,1.
