Martín Jaite was the defending champion, but lost in the first round to Mark Koevermans .
Mats Wilander won the title by defeating Marcelo Filippini 6–1, 6–2 in the final.[1] It was the 33rd and final singles title for Wilander in his career .[2] [3]
