Draft:Tre trallande jäntor

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tre trallande jäntor ("Three carolling girls") is a humorous poem by Gustaf Fröding. It is part of his collection of poems named Nya dikter ("New Poems") which was published in 1894. The poem is about three carolling girls walking along a country road, and at the next road bend they meet three male students who snigger and mimic the three girls who now become very embarrassed. One of the three students was Gustaf Fröding himself.

A melody for this poem was composed by Felix Körling and this song became immensely popular in Sweden in the early 1900s. Many decades later it was recorded by the Swedish dance band Sven-Ingvars. In Türkiye this song is known as Gençlik Marşı, "The March of the Youth", with a very different Turkish text.
