Ottathai

Ottathai is a small village located in Kannur district in the South Indian state of Kerala. Ottathai is 4 km away from Alakode and 4 km away from Kappimala.Ottathai is a peaceful village where people live in harmony, surrounded by natural beauty and cultural heritage. The name "Ottathai" has an interesting origin: it is said that many coconut trees once flourished here, but a herd of elephants destroyed all but one. The lone surviving tree inspired the villagers to name the place "Ottathai," meaning "the one that remained."

Nestled near the scenic Paithmala tourist destination in Kannur, Ottathai boasts a beautiful river that adds to its tranquil charm. The village is also home to St. Anthony's Church and a revered temple, making it a place of spiritual significance and communal unity.
