Fake reference[edit]

The party is an all-Ireland republican party with a left-wing economic stance is not referenced by this. The only mention of this anti-abortion party is in the sentence And does it say something about what could happen to Aontu, another socially conservative micro-party? After checking the history, it was being used correctly before the disruptive change. FDW777 (talk) 11:10, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Abbreviation "Aon"[edit]

Consistently throughout infoboxes on pages such as constituencies, elections, etc. the party is referred to as "Aon". While I understand there are cases where brevity is necessary and Aontú has to be abbreviated alongside other parties, e.g. Fianna Fáil = FF, Labour = Lab, Alliance Party of Northern Ireland = APNI. However, the party is being called "Aon" in places where it is not necessary to shorten the name, especially not to one which it is not commonly shortened to, such as constituency infoboxes, electoral result boxes, etc. Meanwhile in the same infoboxes parties such as Alliance, Labour, People Before Profit, etc. are spelled out in full. This is confusing and people would at a glance assume the party is called "Aon" in full. In my view, this needs to be rectified and the party's full name restored where appropriate. I have changed the shortname from "Aon" to "Aontú". Spleodrach (talk) 07:33, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Importance for WikiProject Ireland[edit]

Reviewed and updated on quality. I do question the priority of Mid - Aontu is notable, and gets more visibility than absolute scale and power might suggest, but still, with 1 TD and 3 councillors, simply Notable (=Low prio) seems more proportionate. Checking further, Independent Ireland, for example, with 3 TDs and multiple local authority people, is rightly at Low prio. SeoR (talk) 23:40, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
