Birth name?[edit]

What was Davis's real name? Harry Davis does not sound like an Ashkenazi Jewish name at all, so I can only presume that he must had anglicized his name when he come to Canada. What was the name he was born with in Romania? At present, this article leaves one with the incredulous impression that a Romanian Jew was born with the name Harry Davis.--A.S. Postmortem developments[edit]

The third paragraph of the lead section contains a great amount of detail about development that occurred after Harry Davis's death. I think this is irrelevant detail that clutters up the lead section. While this detail is worth mentioning in the body of the article, where it is briefly mentioned, I don't think the detail is relevant in the lead and if anything at all needs to be mentioned is that in the wake of Davis's death there were changes in the way the Police operated that lead to a public inquiry in 1950. I think the article would be improved if the third paragraph of the lead was move to the body of the article where it is currently just hinted at. Currently the paragraph appears to be an off-topic paragraph that turns the article into a coatrack for the launch of the Caron Inquiry, which probably deserves its own article if it was "... the city's largest inquiry of the twentieth century on organized crime." At the very least these facts should be mentioned in Montreal Police history. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:26, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
