IBF or WBC?[edit]

His last fight was apparently an IBF world title elimination bout. If that is the case, then surely the winner would become a top contender for the IBF, and not the rival WBC organization! Editrite! (talk) 06:34, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Editrite! thanks for bringing this up. Although I am not sure about your statement due to my lack of knowledge in this area, but I have removed the WBC part since it was not supported by any source. Please check if it is ok now. regards. --DBigXray 10:59, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have followed boxing for many years and find your change more appropriate. There are four main bodies in boxing, and they each have their own rules and operate independently (WBA,WBC, IBF and WBO). Interestingly, it looks like he was NABF (who are affiliated with the WBC) champion at the time of his death. However, that does not mean that fighters cannot fight for other titles, as this case indicates. Editrite! (talk) 02:14, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. Editrite! thanks for sharing this piece of information and confirming the edit. regards. --DBigXray 06:21, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
