Merge and move proposal[edit]

It was proposed in this section that New York Riptide be renamed and moved to Ottawa Black Bears.

Merge Ottawa Black Bears → New York Riptide, then move New York Riptide → Ottawa Black Bears – Unlike the more nuanced Coyotes/Utah and Browns/Ravens cases, this is a more clear-cut relocation of a franchise. Oppose, it appears that each incarnation of an NLL franchise usually gets its own article. See for example Syracuse Smash / Ottawa Rebel / Edmonton Rush / Saskatchewan Rush. 162 etc. (talk) 18:22, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For clarity[edit]

To editor AFC Vixen: a discussion may be opened to discuss a merger and garner consensus for that merger. When editors have discussed the merger and have agreed to it, the merger can be performed and only then, after the merged page has been turned into a redirect, can a move request be opened and discussed.
