- article was recently expanded, is long enough and within policy. QPQ is done. My issue is the hook, specifically the sentence structure which is abnormal for DYK. The interesting part of the hook isn't found in the statement that he taught lit at Yale, even though the emphasis of the hook is on that. Recommend rewording to:
- ALT1 ... that Peter Demetz (pictured), who taught German literature at Yale University from 1956 to 1991, was born in Prague where he was persecuted under the Nazis and escaped the Communist regime in 1949? « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 15:37, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- Gerda Arendt, let me know if ALT1 is acceptable to you (or if you have another ALT). « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 15:38, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the review. ALT1 is acceptable to me. - In almost 15 years with DYK I learned, however, that mentioning Nazi adds 1k clicks (which the stats for Liviu Holender seem to support, again), and I learned from Narutolovehinata5 that the key fact should come at the end. My reason for the order was none of those considerations but that simply teaching German in Yale is not that outstanding, but focusing on German at all after his history is, and then teaching in Yale even more. Just explaining, - ALT1 is acceptable. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:51, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
