Incomplete[edit]

Mr. Yeager is correct but not complete. Other software was also written for these nodes, although that should probably be covered in the SUN workstation article. For example, the V system. This article should probably talk about the Network itself more (e.g. Arpanet was connected, via gateway), as opposed to the boxes. I was involved in the project and knew Bill Yeager (hello if you are still around!) but should be able to dig up some neutral refs. For that matter, the SUMEX-AIM project where Bill Yeager worked might make a good article. I found it referenced in the Timeline of artificial intelligence and Edward H. Shortliffe articles. Also, I remember the SUNet (or spelled SU-Net) name back in the 1980s, but do not remember calling them "blue boxes" since often they were just dull gray, or not in a box.
