Some notes[edit]

Sailer was called "Der schwarze Blitz von Kitz" ("The black Blitz of Kitz") because he had black hairs. There was also "The weisse Blitz von Kitz" ("The white Blitz of Kitz") - he was Andreas Molterer (Anderl Molterer] because he had blond hairs.

He bailed out of the racing-series directly after the 1958 FIS Alpine World Championships and announced finishing his sports career in the summer 1958. In very later interviews, he said that he had accomplished the highest point of his sports career when he had captured 4 medals, he couldn't do more. In one of those interviews he also explained - in regard to his dominance in skiing - that he did read about healthy diets and therefore he did reorganize his customs of eating.

Sailer visited an acting school in Berlin before entering in films; but in later time he featured in TV-films too. In the late 1950ies until the early 1960ies he made 25 disc recordings. From 1967 to 1969 he competed in motor sports in different brands of "formula V". - He was also president of the "Kitzbühel Golf-Club". He was member of the FIS Committee for Alpine Skiing and member in honor in several sporting organisations. 213.225.32.132 (talk) 16:03, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In regard to his magnificent results in 1956 Winter Olympics it is to point out that the margin of 6.2 seconds in the Giant Slalom was made in one leg! At that time (until first official race with two legs in FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships 1966 - that only for male racers) giant slaloms were carried out in one leg. On January 31st, in the Special Slalom, Sailer was best in the first and second leg.213.225.32.132 (talk) 16:52, 30 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
