Paleohydrology

  • ... that paleohydrological study of the Libyan desert show that humid conditions there in the past created a lake with a surface area of around 76,250 km2 (29,400 sq mi)?

  • Reviewing
  • Article is long enough, new enough, neutral, well written and well cited. No copyvio on Earwig.
  • Hook is interesting, correctly formatted, short enough and supported by inline citation.
  • QPQ done
  • I wonder about an ALT1 along the lines of "...although the Fazzan Basin in Libya currently only has 20mm of annual rainfall, paleohydrological study shows that it once contained a huge lake?" It is arguably more eye-catching. Just a suggestion.
  • Happy to approve the original. Papamac (talk) 10:19, 4 August 2019 (UTC)
  • @Iainmacintyre: Thank you for the review. Since then I have written the article Fazzan Basin and would like to add it to this nomination, using the ALT1 hook derived from your suggestion. Would you be able to review it? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:02, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

Thank you. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 12:21, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
  • New reviewer needed to check ALT1 hook. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:33, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
Approving ALT1, with the addition of the US customary units measurement as well as the metric, for US readers. (I hope that doesn't count as a revision of the hook, so that I can't approve it ...) A second QPQ has been done. The facts in ALT1 are supported by citations in the Fazzan Basin article. AGF for offline sources. RebeccaGreen (talk) 20:09, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
