I work at the University of Leeds as a senior learning technologist. As part of that role, I have initiated some exciting projects that use Wikimedia and Open Educational Resources (OER) within the curriculum for bothundergraduates and postgraduates. In these and other Higher Education projects, I enjoy drawing on the techniques and tools of Design Thinking and encouraging and supporting the use of images and infographics.

Other preoccupations of mine include the visual arts, especially pattern design, sculpture, ceramics, fine-art photography, artists' books and animation. I have completed a number art projects relating to fair trade and sustainability. In the interest of living more holistically, sustainably and in tune with the our awesome planet Earth, I am drawn to exploration of sustainable architecture, biomimicry and nature inspired design, permaculture and agro-forestry amongst other things.

Connections with people and place are important to me. The local history and geography of Leeds and Furness in South Cumbria are of special interest, along with the exploration of the small islands around the United Kingdom and Ireland.
