The Great Northern War

I would expand greatly on this early form of the article. Firstly, I would include a more extensive profile firstly of the states involved in the war such as the Hetmanate, Holstein-Gottorp etc and secondly of the battles that took place, such as tactics, numbers etc. where the original article merely links to existing pages on the most important of these battles. Furthermore, the original article has no subsections, so I would subdivide the page into core themes, i.e context of the war, lead-up to the war and the major stages that made up the war, such as the early swedish victories, or after Poltava. There is a wealth of information that is omitted such as the importance of Sweden's exclusion to the Sound tolls and its influence in Denmark-Norway's decision to declare war on Sweden. Including a sub-section on the home front of the swedish empire and its militaristic and logistic organisation. This would include for example, the many reforms brought about during the war in order to finance it. I would also mention the plagues that swept through the country at this time, such as in Finland. A discussion of the state of Sweden and her empire both before the war, during stormaktsperioden or the great power period and after, during the more liberal frihetsperioden or freedom period.
