Milton Quon[edit]

Hi,

The fact his son, Disney ARL and Cartoon Brew all posted about Milton's death on social media seems enough to be sure he's dead. Problem: social media are not allowed here (and IMHO this should be changed for verified accounts) so we have to wait for a "non social" source which would never have been more reliable than these (more reliable than Disney ARL? That's impossible) but just acceptable for the policy.

We wait and wait and wait. Two weeks, and nothing shows up. Nothing. AF News is Italy's foremost website on cartoons and it has never posted fake news or vehiculated them. Peole who write on it (you have name and surname) are experts of cartoon World and carefully verify everything before posting. Big names of Italian comics like Alberico Motta, Rinaldo Traini, Manlio Bonati were announced to be dead by them, and only after this the news were repeated, for example, by Repubblica and Il corriere della Sera. It may be a Wordpress but I guarantee on the reliability of AF News. So I think we should allow it as a source because:

1)It's not a social network.

2)The article is quite detailed and not copied from anywhere.

3)We know from other sources (Disney ARL, Cartoon Brew) that we can't use that he's dead for sure. So there's no risk of vehiculing fake news. It's 100% safe.

Source may be reinstated. If it was the only thing on the web about Quon's death I would be diffident too, but we know for sure he is dead, so I see no harm in using it. --Folengo (talk) 15:13, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote to the Hollywood Reporter and the obit was up in a few hours. Wish I'd done it before. --Folengo (talk) 06:41, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
