Clifford Pember[edit]

Hi, I’m wondering if you can help - I noticed that you’d reverted a page I’ve been too a number of months ago and it’s been vandalised again. The page in question is ‘Clifford Pember’. I understand that this gentleman was a famous film director, but his page has been edited to a WW2 veteran. This veteran was a real person and was in fact my late grandfather. We as a family suspect who has made these edits and have had a word with the person. I do note that you suspect this person to be a previously banned member which I agree with. He does need blocking again as he’s causing family upset by damaging the memory of a great man. Please could I ask you to revert this page to the proper gentlemen and consider action against this user…again… — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:DB00:8400:8196:6F82:4F8C:8F97 (talk) 18:02, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @2A00:23C7:DB00:8400:8196:6F82:4F8C:8F97:, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have already warned this user and as such, I've taken it to the BLP noticeboard. Thanks! --Jkaharper (talk) 18:42, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Magda Harout (American actress born 1926)[edit]

I want to create a page about American actress Magda Harout (born 1926). Unfortunately Magda has died at 95 in September 9 2021. I heard this news from a Facebook post that her granddaughter had made for her grandmother (Magda). I have tried to create it but there is no obituary so far. Can you help me please. Maybe you can contact or find because it can also be an obituary for her on google even though I just find it as I am not doing the right search. Her name is Magda L. Harout Kardashian (husband surname). You can check also Facebook for her death to verified. Just write Magda Harout actress. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BalinaB (talkcontribs) 18:56, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @BalinaB:, let me see what I can do. In the meantime, go on to the Hollywood Reporter website, and use the anonymous tip line. Copy and paste a link to the Facebook post and send it off to them. They may cover it. They may not. The guy who writes the obituaries there is a bit useless. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 19:13, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to article about Rama Khandwala[edit]

Hello Jkaharper, I am new to Wikipedia editing and perhaps don't understand all the protocols. But I want you to know that I am Rama Khandwala's son-in-law. My only interest here is to provide accurate, timely information. The material I added about her death yesterday is absolutely correct because my wife was receiving phone and text messages from family all day. As soon as an article appears in the Indian press, I'll try again to post the news but this time include a link to the article. As for the "promotional twaddle," one of Rama's accomplishments in her life was to write a book when she was well into her 90s. She was, in fact, an author. The original article made no mention of that, nor of the fact that she was featured in a documentary film, which is an important part of the recognition she received in her life. I hope you will reconsider, then, reversing your deletions. Thank you. EditormotmotEditormotmot (talk) 16:09, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Editormotmot:, thank you for your message and sorry to hear about your loss. Please contact your local press about the death of Khandwala, or post a death notice online yourself using a site like Legacy.com. I cannot emphasise this enough – there are very strict rules on Wikipedia regarding biographies. We need a reliable source in the way of media coverage or a death notice which we can linked to on the page itself before we can add a death date there. In terms of the additional information that you added, I will go back and review. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 16:15, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Editormotmot:, I've restored the line about the documentary in the Recognition section. The 2020 book line I've left out as it uses Amazon, which is not a reliable source. It's an online market. --Jkaharper (talk) 16:20, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Arline Hunter ( American model born 1931)[edit]

I want to thank you for creating Magda Harout and for the obituary. Thank you very very much. but I have another problem that I want to express to you. I'm sorry to bother you but one of the American actresses and models Arline Hunter is dead. i have seen the Glamor Model page on Google and Arline turns out dead. but date, month and year are unknown. ???. You can see it. the name of the website is GLAMOR GIRL OF THE SILVER SCREEN. Arline Hunter has wikipedia but is alive until 2018. She lived in a care home in Escondido, California. you can retrieve it and find the correct data and obituary. her husband was Wolfang Wergin (died 2006) — Preceding unsigned comment added by BalinaB (talkcontribs) 19:04, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @BalinaB:, I've done what I can to the Arline Hunter page based on what sources are currently available. In the future, her death record will be accessible via Ancestry but not for another few years. With regards to Magda Harout, please note that data scraping websites like Radaris, Spokeo, MyLife or Clustermaps are not reliable sources (I suggest you read WP:RS). We must work on reliable sources. The only website I can see which says Harout was born specifically in Van Nuys is IMDb, which is not a reliable source either. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 12:19, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Marc Clark - Birth Certificate[edit]

Thank you for the attention you have given this page. I have searched of a published notification of Marc's death but none exists. I have spoken with Marc's widow and she chose not to to advertise the death in any way. Waltraud forwarded me a copy of the death certificate as that is the only proof she has. I do not know where to place the certificate online so it can be verified. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks, FlashpeppiFlashpepi (talk) 20:47, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Flashpepi:, thanks for this. No need, I updated Clark's page with a reliable source that gives his death, and I've referenced it accordingly. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 20:52, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. I shall advise Waltraud (Marc's Widow) of this. It was causing her some concern. Please keep up the good work, CheersFlashpepi (talk) 20:56, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
