Branka Veselinović[edit]

After death of Marsha Hunt (1917-2022) she became oldest living actress. Why did you deleted it? 109.245.39.156 (talk) 13:59, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reliable source for this? --Jkaharper (talk) 14:26, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, you do realise that Elisabeth Waldo is older, yeah? This is why we need a reliable source – there is almost always somebody older. --Jkaharper (talk) 14:49, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Elisabeth Waldo has one movie credit. Branka is actress in real way. Being professional actress since 1938. 109.245.175.167 (talk) 17:17, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
We do not define actors and actresses based in number of credits. Either they acted or not. Another reason why I won't let you insert this sentence is because there are individuals like Daphne Courtney in the "Possibly living people" category on here. We cannot rule them out. --Jkaharper (talk) 17:24, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well Serbian newspapers proclaimed her as oldest living actress, and on her Serbian page she is recognized as such. She is after all oldest living, not possibly living, and professional actress. 109.245.175.167 (talk) 18:01, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Irene Papas[edit]

Hi, I think you're right about the date, but the string of refs now contains the other date, i.e. the refs in place contradict your change. Obviously this is creating confusion. We need to fix this, the root of the problem, directly. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:04, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I know. I'm on it now. Give me 5 mins please. --Jkaharper (talk) 08:05, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Any progress? Otherwise I suggest you at least preliminarily restore the YOB to 1926 as in all sources cited and in all other Wiki versions, if only for the sake of consistency. Kirkurdu (talk) 10:13, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This is settled, and sourced. See the Irene Papas talk page. --Jkaharper (talk) 10:16, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vernon Dvorak[edit]

Hi:

I don't know how you can reach the links for the birth date of Vernon Dvorak, all those links are general and the first is just a reference to his original paper about his technique. I have added the Obituary link from Wikidata, which is the only attainable. Pierre cb (talk) 14:21, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Pierre cb:, thanks for finding this link. I knew 99/100 was wrong as per Google books and the birth/service records. Ancestry you need a subscription for. With Google books, previews are not always available via the link for the book itself. Here's a smaller preview via the search engine. Thanks --Jkaharper (talk) 14:32, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know, only free access direct links should be used as references. The preview you give is nice but it does not really related that Vernon Dvorak to the meteorologist we look for. For instance there is at least another Vernon Dvorak when I search, obviously not the right one but still with the same name. Pierre cb (talk) 14:47, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, that's definitely the same one because it mentions his spouse's name, which we already have from another source listed on his page. --Jkaharper (talk) 15:44, 23 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
