see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Computer_security_software_companies which I used as inspiration - can you give this (non-marketing person) more context as to why you consider this "blatant advertising" ? Rockpool (talk) 15:39, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
because it just tells us what the company does, whereas it should report on what independent reliable sources hace chosen on their own to discuss. Theroadislong (talk) 16:15, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That seems to be true of other small company entries though? for example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AlgoSec and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IViz_Security as examples (and I know that the existence of a similar article is not necessarily a measure of appropriateness). The foundation of an article on a company surely has to start with a summary of what they do, of which the only source would be the company themselves (and thus not worthy of a reference). Rockpool (talk) 17:02, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Correct see other poor quality articles eixst. Your lede has one sentence about what they do (fair enough) but then goes on to say "which helps corporate entities reduce business risk by prioritizing exposure management following Continuous Threat Exposure (CTEM) methodologies, as well as providing services to operationalize CTEM, Endpoint Defense Management (EDM), and security event operations." which is totally inappropriate marketing. I saw - and I would politely suggest you are incorrect in your assertion that "Three of the sources do not even mention the topic" [1] is specifically about Digitalware - the prior name of the company the article is about [2] is specifically about the launch of Epiphany Systems, which was merged with Digitalware to form the company the article is about [3] is related specifically to Epiphany Systems, again a company which was merged to form the company in question. [4] is a complete mention of the fact that is being sited (the notable award). My intent is not to waste anyones time, it's to contribute to the Wikipedia coverage and completeness of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Computer_security_companies Rockpool (talk) 18:26, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
