Not minor edits[edit]

Information icon Hi Stud.asif! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Jessore Medical College that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 20:16, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. worldbruce, the official name of Jessore to "Jashore" was changed in March 2018 by the govt. of the people republic of Bangladesh. along with the all institution of Jashore, like Jessore university of science technology to Jashore university of science technology, Jessore medical college to Jashore medical college. 103.166.58.102 (talk) 07:01, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The government of Bangladesh can decide how the government of Bangladesh will spell place names and names of government organizations. Wikipedia, however, is not part of the government of Bangladesh.
The spelling "Jashore" is gradually gaining acceptance. If that continues, Wikipedia will eventually adopt it. Wikipedia is in no rush, however, for the reasons outlined at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Bangladesh/Archive 7#Placename changes and Wikipedia policy. Year-to-date, the major English-language daily newspaper Dhaka Tribune has used Jashore 10 times and Jessore 38 times. Government websites are using Jashore more consistently now, but it still appears both ways on pages of the Bangladesh Army, to give but one example. Uptake has probably been slower outside of Bangladesh, as suggested by the Google Ngram Viewer of books through 2019.[1] Both Banglapedia: The National Encyclopedia of Bangladesh and Encyclopædia Britannica still use Jessore.[2][3] Be patient, see what happens. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:20, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

BAF Shaheen College, Jashore moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, BAF Shaheen College, Jashore, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:06, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This article should not have been published. It is completely unreferenced, and quite clearly not yet finished. Please develop your content in the user or draft space, and only publish when ready. I have moved this into drafts. Once you think it's ready to publish, you can submit it for AfC review by clicking the blue 'submit' button. Thanks, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:08, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop moving pages to new name.[edit]

I noticed that you are obsessed with new names of places rather than common names. You moved Jessore railway station and Dhaka–Jessore line showing the cause that Jashore is "the real name". But there is no real name here. And Wikipedia values common name. Very few years passed government changed English spelling of these places. But that doesn’t mean that we have to move them. For example, Turkey changed their country name to Turkiye. But English Wikipedia didn’t changed its English pronounciation, they kept the old name. So please never change place name saying that they are the real name. Still many people don't use new name, they are known by old english names, and it is English Wikipedia. BAF Shaheen College Jashore, a page you recently created, has been redirected boldly to Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen College because the former is not suitable to remain published. All of the content comes from the college's website. Only one other source is mentioned, a 2017 press release about what was then an upcoming class reunion, but it supports none of the content in the article.

A college must either satisfy the the notability guidelines for organizations, the general notability guideline, or both to merit a stand alone article in Wikipedia. In other words, it must be the subject of significant coverage in multiple, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the college. Sources do not appear to exist that would allow a separate article about this college, but a few sentences about it are permissible in the broader article Bangladesh Air Force Shaheen College, which covers all seven such colleges. Manual of Style - Credentials[edit]

Wikipedia's Manual of Style instructs editors not to use academic and professional titles or degrees (such as "Doctor", "Professor", or PhD) before or after names.

This may seem strange if you come from a culture where such titles are normally used. Fifty years ago in West Germany, for instance, one would never have referred to a male professor except by the almost militaristic "Herr Doktor Professor". The use of such titles is less common in Commonwealth countries (the Dictionary of National Biography, for example, avoids them), and is even more rare in the United States, where it would sound like sycophancy.

In any case, the English-language Wikipedia has adopted a standard of not using them. You can see the style in action at such articles as List of Nobel laureates by country and good articles about universities, such as King's College London and Texas State University. Don't include "Professor" or "Dr." --Worldbruce (talk) 15:19, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

About train related articles[edit]

I am noticing that you are creating train related articles. But the thing is not all railway related topic is notable in Wikipedia and it is clear that you can't understand that. And it is not new that some of your train related articles are moved to draft because of notability. The first thing is the topic itself, some of the articles you create don't have independent reliable sources and this is the problem. Some of them are indeed notable and has good sources, but you don't add the good sources in these articles, what I see that these notable articles, created by you, has low quality references and that's the reason others can't verify the topic and they move these to draft. Remember Rupdia railway station. It was indeed notable and had good sources but you didn't show good sources in the article so that's why the article was moved to draft. For Singia railway station, it hasn't good quality sources so creating this in Wikipedia is impossible for now. But looks like you didn't realize that. Your another article Panchagarh railway station has no sources. Recently your another article Draft:Madumati Express was draftified because of the same reason, lack of good sources. And Panchagarh railway station doesn't have even sources! Recently you created Mawa railway station and looks like we don't have good sources about the railway station. Another thing I noticed that you heavily use primary sources which is red flag. And you need to focus on these things if you don't want you articles to be draftify.
