KCPQ (channel 13) is a television station licensed to Tacoma, Washington, broadcasting the Fox network in the Seattle area. It is owned and operated by the network and shares its studios in Seattle with KZJO. It was built in 1953 and was soon acquired by Seattle broadcaster J. Elroy McCaw, who ran it cheaply. His estate sold the station in 1972; it fell into court-appointed receivership in 1974 and was taken off the air. The Clover Park School District acquired the station, which it used to replace KPEC-TV, and operated it as a public television station between 1976 and 1980. Financial exigencies prompted the school district to sell the station back to commercial ownership, Kelly Broadcasting, in 1980. The station became a successful independent, affiliated with Fox in 1986, and started producing local newscasts. Tribune Broadcasting acquired the station in 1999; Fox purchased it in 2020 from Nexstar Media Group after making multiple attempts to own a station in the market. (Full article...)

Coordinator comment There is another request for December 12 at WT:TFA/R. Note that we express no preference between them. Wehwalt (talk) 20:42, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll note I had not seen that request because it was at the talk page. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 04:29, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We'd be grateful if community members would express a preference between the nominations.--Wehwalt (talk) 09:22, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I personally think this article's topic might be a little too similar to the proposed entry Janet(s) (proposed on the 6th), since both are on television.--ZKang123 (talk) 02:48, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
